We love getting to know the people behind the businesses – we caught up with Jazmin Yanez to ask her our “famous” 5 questions:
1.What prompted the start of the business?
A few years ago, I used to enjoy running on a recreational basis. I used to enter 5 and 10ks and even a couple of half marathons. However, I developed a common knee injury arising largely from imbalances in my posture which led to intense pain. At the time, I was undergoing a lot of stress and had also moved offices in my old job. My new desk gave me even more issues and pain. After trying a few things, what helped me the most was massage. As I saw my symptoms improve over time I realised the impact of therapeutic touch and decided to train in massage therapy.
2.What does your business offer its customers?
I tailor every massage treatment to my client’s needs. Clients tell me they can see the improvement over a few weeks and months as part of a programme to help them address issues that have been ongoing for some time.
3.What kind of customers do you work with? Are there any types of businesses you collaborate well with?
Anyone who is looking to relieve tension, re energise and reset will benefit from massage therapy. It is not unusual for me to refer my clients to a medical professional or complementary therapist from chiropody, nutritional therapy, acupuncture, exercise instructors, etc. I have a holistic approach to wellbeing and believe in working alongside other professionals to help my clients improve their quality of life.
4.What’s the toughest part of running your business?
COVID has been challenging but at the same time it has brought a renewed focus and determination. I am now also training in sports massage and soft tissue therapy to offer an even better service to my clients.
5.What piece of advice could you give to other business owners?
Own your successes and learn from what has not gone so well. They are equally important!
